About the Studio

Located in the Santa Monica Mountains, my studio is a peaceful refuge in which to learn and to create.

As you approach the studio, you have a gorgeous view of the mountains and valleys of the chaparral. The building that houses the studio is set apart from the homes on the property, surrounded by lush native plantings and fruit trees. All is quiet and serene, save the sounds of local wildlife mingling with friendly chickens and pigs!

Inside, a large central table has room for many hands to work in clay on canvas boards, hand building or glazing previously bisque-fired pieces. An ever-growing collection of tools sits at the ready, with endless drawers of stamps, molds, shapes, and textures. Nearby cabinets house glaze materials, stains, waxes, and assortedcollections of "possibly useful stuff!" Potters wheels sit close at hand for the adventurous or experienced to practice throwing.

"Inspiration Corner" is an area of the studio with shelves filled with all sorts of resources to provide ideas, technical information, and history to inspire and inform. At a smaller table, students can sketch ideas as they page through books and magazines or enjoy a break with a cuppa!

Adjoining the work space is my Studio Gallery where I have my own work on display and for sale. Students often enjoy perusing the Gallery to find examples of glaze colors, clay varieties, and surface finishes.

Interested in visiting? I open my doors for Studio Tours and shopping events throughout the year, and am also open by appointment for prospective students or Studio Gallery shoppers. See my Events page, and be sure to join my email list to get all the latest news from the studio!
